Community
Having close access to community services in our area is
very important to our Members at Whattlekainum Housing Co-op.
|
|
Forest Grove Elementary School and Burnaby Mountain Secondary School are nearby and within walking distance.
Close recreational areas include Maple Grove Park, a soccer field, tennis and basketball courts.
Burnaby Mountain also has wonderful walking and bike trails.
Lougheed Mall, Cameron Recreational Centre and Library is about a 15-20 minute walk along the hiking trail,
and we are situated on a major bus route between Lougheed Mall and Brentwood Mall, with IGA Shopping Centre and
Burnaby Mountain Golf Course midway. We also have access to the Skytrain travelling to downtown Vancouver.
Other services in the area are the Ethos Coffee Shop, Pizza Place and Montessori Daycare which is situated in our Mountainside Village Complex; The Grove Before and After School Care which operates out of Forest Grove Elementary School, and Costco which is just a 5 minute walk from Production Way/University Skytrain and Bus Station.
